Ack! Only 12 more days until NaNoWriMo '04 begins and we don't even have a plot or an outline or anything! We're so screwed! So amazingly and completely screwed. Do you think college apps can be our NaNo thing this year? What about Euro salient points and Plato's journals? Agrh!

<----------- is for hate of senior year

NaNoWriMo!

Yes, it's October, which means everyone who wants to do National Novel Writing Month 2004 should sign up at nanowrimo.org! They have four pretty icons to pick from this year. One is a squirrel! Very appropriate, for us at least. ^_^

Anyways, we're pretty sure most of you know what it is. You attempt to write a novel in one month. That's 50,000 words in one month folks. Again, if you're interested sign up! And tell us so we can talk NaNo talk with you.

Right...we have nothing better to do but college apps so yeah. *shrugs*

La-dee-freaking-da! We figured out what we're going to do for NaNo this year. Or at leas we have an idea that we might be able to stretch out into a reasonable amount. And it involves all the crap that's been going through our head as of late, which is kind of good but not. We just hope it's still there when we start working on the outline. RIght now we're just jotting down ideas and stuff.

Downside is we doubt we'll be able to use this for SIP. Oh well, we're dropping Money Management so yeah. It should be okay. *crosses fingers* It would make our schedule sooo happy.

We deleted our old NaNo...shit. We thought we had it in our e-mail and when we went to look we discovered that it'd *poof*ed and then we remembered that we deleted it because why would we need it in our e-mail if we had it on our regular comp.

Shit.

We are for teh lose...*cries*

So it's almost that time again. Ish. Well, actually, it's not even September and we're talking about NaNoWriMo, which occurs in November. But our muse is in a mood to brainstorm and shit so hey. We'll go with it and jot down ideas and stuff. We want to get soemthing done this NaNo so we can use it for our Indep Project, or soemthing like it at least. And we're going to the Mainland for Thanksgiving again. Rar...lose time...that and we feel really uncomfortable writing stuff in front of our parentals. Yeah, we're weird like that.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
So NaNoWriMo has finished. We think we ended up with something around 19,500 words. Grr on not being able to finish it, but somehow we saw it as inevitable. Whatever, until next year then.

And since it's over we'll now switch this journal into our fandom journal. So any thoughts on Everwood, Gilmore Girls, Smallville, and maybe Joan of Arcadia will now be placed here.

Meh, as the seasons change so do the times.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
We haven't reached 20k yet, but we just passed 19k! And we leave tomorrow...*cries* Oh well, next year right?
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
Yeah, we've more or less given up on reaching the 50,000 word goal, not that we ever believed we had a devil's chance in heaven at reaching it. Right now we're at 17,418 and not making much progress beyond that. School would be one reason as to why we've been pushed so far behind. We had two tests today, a paper due Thursday, ASPE on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, karate on Tuesday and Thursday nights, "Everwood" on Monday nights, "Gilmore Girls" on Tuesday nights, "Smallville" on Wednesday nights, plus homework, and last week was the devil week too (grr...). Yeah those are the excuses...anyways...we hope to reach 20,000 before we leave on our trip Tuesday. Keyword there being "hope."

An amusing bit from the NaNoWriMo newsletter )

It also mentions chocolate and caffeine, neither of which we are particularly fond of. We've been craving sunflower seeds...and we're more worried about our outline than the actual story. We don't think we have a climax...*sweatdrop* crap.

Hah ha!

Just passed 12,500 words. *giddy laughter* Yay!
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
We've finished writing out four pages of our (unfinished) outline yay! Word count is up to 12,045. Not bad, even though we wanted to be there last night before we went to sleep. Oh well. We have another two and a half pages of outline to get through until we bring back the other character in "real life." This ought to be interesting.

Woot! Just passed the 10,000 mark few minute ago. We're now at 10,207. Heh, okay it's late and we should be getting to sleep, or our father will come and bitch us out for being up so late. Grr...We love weekends.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
We're slowing down again. Only have 9,139 words...sad. Oh well, weekend's coming up; plus we get the random holiday on Tuesday so we should be able to pump out more of the story after that. Ideally that is...*sweatdrop* Okay, sleep time again.

So we just posted an excerpt. It's friends locked. As of right now it's only available to those who are also doing NaNoWriMo, but if you're interested then leave a comment, and we'll get back to you. 7,642 words, yeah, we're decreasing as we go along...sad panda...got to wait until the weekend so we can build back up. Stupid school.

Wow

We actually had a flash back scene that was under a page long, simply amazing...though we are going for length so we aren't quite sure whether that's a good or bad thing. Hurm...considering that our flashbacks tend to be about a page longer than the actual "real" time scenes, it's probably good that we're shortening them. But whatever.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
7,112 words! Yeah, not that big of an increase, but we had ASPE, watched "Everwood" (thoughts to be posted on our dj) and wrote to Cory. Excuses, but good ones. Sleep time.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
We're done with two pages of out eleven page (not yet finished) outline. Yay! And we have 6,268 words. Much progress indeed.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
We have about ten and a half pages written already. Under normal circumstances we would already be running out of ideas or stuck in some weird place that makes us just want to give up and stop writing, but this is different. We don't' know why it'd different, but it just is.

We're thinking this is because we spent a good three weeks planning this mother fucker out, allowing all these ideas to permeate our brain before actually putting anything "real" down on paper. We're also thinking that because we did this our stream of ideas will run out eventually, but it hasn't. We're flowing with our writing, and this is the first time it's ever happened. Sure we still get distracted by fics, TWoP forums, hw, and chores, but our thoughts keep returning to this growing monstrosity.

Though, if we really think about it, maybe the fact that we don't know how to get from where we are in our outline to the end is a bit of a road block. We'll have to do something about that in our creative writing class (the class that we have assigned time to work on our NaNoWriMo story in). It'll turn out okay; that's our new mantra when it comes to this thing.
