And by New Years I mean calendar and Chinese. Like usual it's been a while since I last posted, though I guess not as bad as usual. First semester went pretty well, certainly better than some of my quarters at UCSC, but SJSU's program isn't nearly as intense. Started Spring semester today. Classes are kind of meh so far. Review in Japanese. This sensei is more formal than the previous one, which is a little sad because I liked learning conversational Japanese. My numerical analysis class looks like it'll be interesting. Not quite sure about object-oriented design. I'm interested in the topic, but it's after a 6 hour break so I might feel inclined-- to attend. Tomorrow is algorithms and I'm looking forward to that so we'll see how it goes.

Spent a month at home for winter break. It was awesome. I was a little sad to be away from my butthead cat and Nick, but it worked out okay. I don't think Jake ever wants me to leave again though, lol. Spent a bunch of time at home hanging out with the cats. Helped my parents out with some chores. Hung out and ate tons of noms with Jaimie and Hideo. Got Nick caught up on Dollhouse and Firefly; we'll probably watch V or TSCC next. I also applied to a bunch of internships, got a couple of call backs this week so we'll see what happens.

Finished getting all of my motorcycle gear before I left for break, but didn't get the chance to go riding until I got back. Nick and I just took a short ride from his place to mine to go feed the cat, but it was hella fun. That's right, hella. We're hoping to go for a longer ride this weekend before the semester really starts up and I get swamped with work.

Speaking of, I mainly have morning classes so I should be getting to bed.

So [livejournal.com profile] legendofseeker posted a link to a poll saying vote for Kahlan/Bridget Regan. Easy enough right? WRONG! It's broken up into four groups so I guess that's better than one big group but still. How am I supposed to choose between Adelle DeWitt (Dollhouse), Anna (V) and Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl) for group one, Emily Prentiss (Criminal Minds), Jessica Hamby (True Blood) and Kahlan Amnell (Legend of the Seeker) for group two, Kate Beckett (Castle), Padma Lakshmi (Top Chef) and Pam (True Blood) for group three, and Quinn Fabray (Glee), Rachel Berry (Glee), Serena van der Woodsen (Gossip Girl), Sierra (Dollhouse), Sophie (True Blood), Tara Thornton (True Blood), and Veronica Palmer (Better Off Ted) for group four?

Oh wait, we can vote multiple times. Problem solved.

Link to poll: difficult poll is difficult

So pretty much all of my friends IRL are well aware of my love of the supporting cast of Dollhouse, mainly because Echo and Ballard bore me to tears. (Sorry Joss, Eliza Dushku is really only good at playing Faith and Faith-like characters, plus she's starting to show her age.) However, this has begun to extend to other fandoms, like Glee. Basically, I really wish they would focus on the characters that aren't Rachel and Finn, especially since Finn's voice isn't the best and when Rachel isn't being hilarious she's a little bit annoying. I loved her in the scenes with JewFro this week though. What accelerated this was Quinn's bitchface/death glare during the "No Air" routine. Dianna Agron has the best bitchface ever.

Then someone posted this picspam and through the comments I found out how AMAZING Heather Morris is. TBH, Glee does her no justice. Much like Quinn the whole cheerleader hairstyle/outfit really doesn't fit her that well. Take Quinn out of the uniform and let her hair down, girl is stunning. Point being, Heather Morris is FIERCE.

Example A (she's the girl in the dark top):

I would hit that like the fist of an angry god. I'm going to be so sad if they don't use her skillz at some point this season. I mean the writers kind of already played with it by having her do the "Single Ladies" thing with Kurt, since she used to be a Beyonce backup dancer, but still.

Glee )

Gossip Girl )

Castle )

Criminal Minds )

Dollhouse )

The Vampire Diaries )

Defying Gravity )

Mercy )

Flash Forward )

Tons of shows to watch, but really if I had to name only three, I'd definitely pick Dollhouse, Defying Gravity and Glee. Hands down.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! Joss is trying to get Summer Glau on Dollhouse. Do you realize how fucking awesome that would be? And by awesome I also mean HOT because hi, Summer Glau ftw, and she outhots Eliza Dusku, imho. And lol, Joss said, "Summer said to me, 'I would like to play a normal girl before I die of extreme old age.'" So that means that she won't be a doll, but whatever. SUMMER GLAU!

K I'm done now.

Who totally gasped out loud and then squeed like a giddy little fangirl at next week's Dollhouse premier? That's right ME! WASH! I've kind of been expecting him to bring back Firefly characters/actors and he did! OMFG I CAN'T WAIT!
