I really am terrible at updating this on a regular basis. I blame tumblr and twitter.

Still in SF (btw, summer in SF sucks balls it's been fucking foggy and windy this entire week), going to SJSU in the fall. I've been trying to find places in the area to live at, but so far everything I've seen has been subpar. My parents seem to think I have too high standards, which might be true, but some of these places are fucking skeezy. (Welcome to SJ.)

Been hitting up the San Mateo farmers market like a fiend. Have I mentioned that I love summer and all the wonderful fruits? Plums, peaches, nectarines, pluots. Sweet, sugary, fruity goodness. There are also a bunch of vendors with fresh peas. Holy crap. The only time I ever ate peas was at my grandparents' in PA during the summer. Fresh peas are mindblowing. So much better than frozen peas. Also got to experience fresh garbanzo beans. Saute them with butter, garlic and a little lemon juice. Omnoms.

Went to Vegas last weekend for a little Dillingham reunion. Had an insanely funtime. Was good seeing everyone. I do have to say that I'm really glad that Becky and Andy ended up visiting LV that same weekend though because Saturday night with them was kind of awesome. Hit up Tao. Becky worked her insane magic and got us in free, plus free drinks for all the girls before 11. Yeah, it was basically an hour and a half of going to the bar, downing our drinks and finding another bartender for more. Then after 11, Becky caught the attention of this group of guys who had gotten bottle service. Yay more free booze! NGL, definitely woke up with a hangover, lol.

Then on Monday Becky and I took her sister out to celebrate her 21st bday. OH MAN THAT WAS FUCKING HILARIOUS. (Btw, Firehouse No. 1 best bar in downtown SJ. Their music selection FTW. Also, cheap drinks.) Her sister is such a light weight, so her filters were gone like that: "I burped earlier and it tasted like nipple." (Okay, not as bad as it sounds. Her first shot was a buttery nipple.) Still, GOOD. TIMES. I don't think I stopped laughing from when we sat down at the bar until I dropped them off.

So I found a show that fills my poorly written girl-drama slot that Gossip Girl vacated after their season finale, Pretty Little Liars. This show is like crack. The writing is cringe worthy but I CAN'T STOP WATCHING. (The hot chicks may have something to do with that, and the dude who kind of looks like Tom Welling. Bonus points for one of the hot chicks playing a lesbian-in-training and the love interest being Kendra from BtVS.) No srsly, this shit is just so heavy-handed that you can pretty much see everything about two minutes before it happens. There was some decent writing at the beginning of this week's ep, so we'll see what happens. Also, I love how half of the girls have totally pedobears as love interests. No really, one is the girl's teacher and the other is the older sister's fiancé. Did no one else realize this? The actresses may look like they're over 18, but they're definitely playing 16 year olds, though I guess that's legal in some states.

Anyway, if you want a summertime Gossip Girl-like show to watch I'd definitely recommend Pretty Little Liars, just not entirely sure why beyond the hot chicks and a Tom Welling lookalike.

So I remember last Spring quarter sitting in Delatti's, a froyo place up in Los Gatos, with Frank and Melissa and the place was totally playing awesome 90s/early 00s music. Right after we realized what was playing we decided it'd be a really good idea to create a 90s playlist. Unfortunately, finals and then summer came and we never got around to it. Sad panda, I know. Anyways, point behind this post, the Third Eye Blind station on pandora: awesome 90s/early 00s music. Ah the days when listening to the radio was actually worth it. Oh to be a teenager again, wow way to make myself feel old, lol.

Also, someone explain to me how taking 12 units means I'm more busy than last quarter when I was taking 17 units (10 of which were compilers and OS). I never have a free weekend. (Okay, lies, because I totally did last weekend, but I spent it in LA, so it doesn't count?) But srsly, wtf? And databases is kind of embarrassingly easy too, just time consuming.

Okay back to Scheme... *sigh*

Haha, one of my friends from Punahou posted some OLD SCHOOL Dillingham photos. Oh man those were the days, lol. It's kind of sad that I fell out of touch with most of the previous generation Dillinghammers; I had some good times them. I think that's because I was young and didn't get wrapped up in their drama. Funny how that happens.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
Haha, there's a Punahou alumni in the White House!

*gloats*

Okay, I'm done now.

I've been going through some of the fic I archived on my comp. I tend to do this with good fic, so I don't have to track it down on the intarwebs and can read them when I don't have intarwebs. Specifically, I've been re-reading some of the Gundam Wing fic I have. Man, this stuff brings back memories. GW was my first fandom, a fangirl never forgets her first fandom. Some of these fics also remind me why I initially wanted to be a lit major.

I heart T.S. Eliot and E.E. Cummings. And Hindley's class, American Lit for you unfortunate souls who didn't attend Punahou. (I find it really strange that I had absolutely no school pride while attending, but I do now that I'm in college. Not that I'm going to volunteer or donate money or anything, but still.) Hindley actually made the whole analyzing thing bearable, if not enjoyable and interesting. Dude, I seriously miss Hindley's class, liek woah.

Unfortunately, college kind of drained me of that. Hence me getting my ass kicked in CS classes instead of coasting through lit classes. Okay, maybe not coasting, but I pwnzed the classes that were writing/reading intensive. Then again, I pwnzed my early math/CS classes. (Haha, I pwnzed my calc classes so hard that I only went in for the midterms and final.) Though, I would like to point out that papers are easier to bullshit than programs, so yeah.

Yay! Got our AP scores via our UCSC thing because they supposedly get them sent electronically. Or something. Point being, they got them before we did.

Calc AB: 5
Stats: 5
Euro: 3

Hurrah for everything but euro...goddamnit that's really sad. We knew that the test owned us but we had hoped it didn't really own us. *grumbles* Oh well, at least we still get credit.

So total AP scores are as follows
Pysch: 5
Calc AB: 5
Stats: 5
Physics B: 4
US History: 4
Euro History: 3

Yes yesterday was prom. Hurrah hurrah...kind of. Got up, went to karate, took a shower, napped, waited for Jaimie, got hair and make up done by Jaimie (thank you), made Kevin wait a bit while we got ready, did the picture thing at our house, went to Mike's house, did more picture things with Leoni and Jeff (loved the hat), got in the limo and went to prom, waited thirty plus minutes to get in, did the other picture thing, complained about the band (it was reggae...too loud, virtually eliminating conversation), complained about the food, had a fun chat with Harry, did the group picture thing, waited to do the homeroom picture thing, was named Laura's other date (because Dustin poofed for a bit), waited some more to do the homeroom picture thing, said "fuck it" and danced, waited to do the homeroom picture thing, danced with Ryder, did the homeroom picture thing (kind of...), danced etc.

Left prom, listened to Leoni babble about the lights on the roof of the limo (they were cool), limo probably drove through Waikiki because it took an unnaturally long time to get to the freeway, changed at Mike's house, went to sushi, had a fun time with the other Mike and his friends, did some interesting things involving hamachi...and freaked Jaimie out (*snerk*), went home, showered, slept.

The shoes were a hit. Well, with most people, our friends were disappointed that we were so close to completely looking like a girl and the shoes kind of broke with that. We thought it was amusing because it wasn't like we didn't do the hair, make up, dress, shoes, etc. our freshmen year.

Highlights (if you don't want to read the above "paragraphs")
-bitching with Harry about the band and everything related
-dancing with Ryder and talking about how crappy the music is
-watching Jet and Joel break (they uber!)
-doing the classic slow dance thing with Kevin
-teaching Kevin how to eat udon
-hamachi
-figuring out how to pay Mike back for dinner

Low Points
-the live band
-"Baby Got Back"
-food
-the homeroom picture

writing out senior picture thingies shouldn't be this draining, but it is. It's so freaking time consuming...

5 down...30-ish more to go...ugh. Does anybody else want one? We think we have extras, if we counted right.

Got grades today for third quarter
Humanities: A
AP Stats: A
AP Calc AB: A-
AP Euro: A
Citizenship: A

Dude...we rock...but it's second semester and doesn't count for anything. Go figure.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
- not taking the brown belt exam because they won't let us (see deadjournal if you're really interested) *sad/angry/tear*
- going to UC Santa Cruz for college because a) rejected from Stanford, Harvard, UC Berk, UCLA, b) wait listed at Pitzer, c) don't really want to go to U Oregon, U Iowa or Lewis & Clark, d) close to Castroville (artichoke capital of the world), Gilroy (garlic capital of the world), Monterey (uber aquarium), and San Fran (we consider hour drives to be close) ^_^
- going to prom with Kevin in Jaimie's dress she wore to Fukui's prom with blue pumas ^_^
- going out after prom to eat sushi (Mike: give us your cell # if you're still interested so we can figure this out)
- got an A in humanities ^_^
- getting our ass kicked in AP Euro *sad*, but we only need a 3 on the exam to get credit ^_^
- not going to school tomorrow because we only have chapel, instead we will be playing pool with father adn eating lunch with parents and grandparents
- need to work on SIP story
- not going to project grad because a) it's at the fucking blaisedell, b) want to sleep in comfortable bed in comfortable clothes as opposed to on the floor in some stupid dress, c) costs $75 to attend, d) don't want to be surrounded by idiots (even though some aren't that bad, most are), e) will be bitchy/grumpy the next day and probably get sick as we need our sleep and won't get it if we go, and f) instead of eating their crap dinner and breakfast, we can go eat Sekiya's with family for dinner and have caviar, pate, cheese, and crackers for breakfast (yes we are a spoiled brat why do you ask?) ^_^

Now that we look at this, the only important thing is the college stuff and prom (if you really want to count it). *shrugs*

We have to fit an hour of Senior Independent Project in there somewhere. That depends on other people's schedules and stuff. Hee! So uber sweet after AP exams. Hell, it's pretty sweet right now. Hee!
heart1e55m00mba: (GrrSpinning\\exclude)
Ack! Only 12 more days until NaNoWriMo '04 begins and we don't even have a plot or an outline or anything! We're so screwed! So amazingly and completely screwed. Do you think college apps can be our NaNo thing this year? What about Euro salient points and Plato's journals? Agrh!

<----------- is for hate of senior year
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
La-dee-freaking-da! We figured out what we're going to do for NaNo this year. Or at leas we have an idea that we might be able to stretch out into a reasonable amount. And it involves all the crap that's been going through our head as of late, which is kind of good but not. We just hope it's still there when we start working on the outline. RIght now we're just jotting down ideas and stuff.

Downside is we doubt we'll be able to use this for SIP. Oh well, we're dropping Money Management so yeah. It should be okay. *crosses fingers* It would make our schedule sooo happy.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
Seriously though, for Am Lit we have to write a thesis paper and Hindley wants us to find the subtext in order to create the thesis, and when we see subtext we automatically think slash.

Puritans aren't supposed to be like this, right? )

Yay!

We just realized that today is Wednesday, and Smallville is on Wednesdays, and today is a new SV ep! We are happy! Plus we only have one more final to go. Even though this final is going to bitch us so hard. Grr...stupid AP Physics.
heart1e55m00mba: (Default)
Okay Variety Show is related to writing in a kinda sorta way so yeah.

Finale for VS: Eve 6 - Here's to the Night

it's just an idea and we're basing it off of lyrics without knowing what the main concept is. Yeah...but hey.
